Challenge
Implementing centralized reporting came with its share of challenges. We first tackled the integration of complex technical and business processes, ensuring the new systems merged smoothly.
Then, we faced the task of consolidating data from various sources like SAP, SMEX, Iconnect, ISU, and GIS, each with their own update schedules. This required collecting diverse stakeholder requirements and transforming them into complex Power BI visualizations.
User enablement was another hurdle. We needed to empower employees, regardless of their technical expertise, to use the new reports effectively and support seamless change management.
Solution
To ensure our clients’ goals are comprehensively addressed at C4 Energy, we partnered with the client’s data engineers to create approximately 20 Power BI reports focused on key areas like budget and measure control.
For deployment, we utilized the Power BI service to develop an app that specifies target groups, allowing users access to the specific reports they need. To maintain consistent data updates, we established a central repository for source files and coordinated fixed data provision times with relevant departments.
This standardization and automation were crucial for successful implementation and greatly improved data availability.
Technical & economic benefits
We are pleased with the outcome. Implementing the new reporting solutions has resulted in significant technical and economic advancements for our client.
The various departments have gained substantial time savings, and the quality and reliability of the data have markedly improved. With information now centralized, efficiency in claim management and budget control at the customer centers has been optimized.
Moreover, the new reporting structure offers enhanced visibility of related projects and their management, greatly simplifying multi-project oversight.
The close collaboration with data engineers and focused requirements management were crucial to this initiative’s success, ensuring the reporting solutions aligned with current business intelligence needs.
Overall, we have enhanced data visualization and analysis, gaining valuable business insights that aid in optimizing decision-making. Our business intelligence strategy was a complete success!
